Ryan James grew up in McKeesport, PA. He’s a graduate of McKeesport Area High School, Allegheny College, and Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Shortly after graduating at the top of his class at Cooley Law, Ryan established his own law firm, James Law, LLC, out of the spare room of his home while working early-morning shifts at a home-improvement retailer. Since 2012, Ryan has grown his firm to be a reputable trial and appellate practice, which has led him throughout Western Pennsylvania and other parts of the state on behalf of his clients. If elected, Ryan would fill a role infrequently represented on the Pennsylvania Superior Court as a criminal-defense attorney, one who has regularly argued cases before the court.
Ryan James currently resides with his wife, Kristen, and their son, Oake, in White Oak, PA, but they’re anxiously awaiting to make their upcoming move to North Huntington in Westmoreland County. Ryan is a first-time candidate, who’s licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, Michigan, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the federal district court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Ryan has been honored as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Rising Star, a Trib Total Media Silver Award Winner-Best Attorney, The Daily News Readers’ Choice Gold Award Winner-Best Attorney, and he’s been recognized by the National Trial Lawyers as a Top 40 Under 40 criminal trial lawyer in Pennsylvania.
